This workshop will introduce care management, the role community health workers play as part of a care team, and tools community health workers can use, such as NCCARE 360, to make referrals and coordinate care.
This workshop will explore the effect of acculturation, stress, and resilience on co-occurring substance abuse, intimate partner violence, HIV risk, depression (i.e., syndemic conditions), and biological stress among young adult Hispanic immigrants.
This workshop will provide an overview of NC Medicaid & Medicaid Managed care programs and the recent changes with Medicaid expansion. It will also discuss the roles of a CHW in assuring community members enroll in insurance.

This interactive workshop will present the growing rate of HIV/STIs for Latinos in North Carolina, how cultural stigmas contribute to misinformation, and creative teaching strategies to promote safe sex methods among Latinos.
Open to community health workers, employers, outreach workers, and others interested in learning more about how community health workers can build health in communities.
Four (4) Continued Ed Hours credited toward hours required by the NC Association of Community Health Workers to keep up with a certificate of attendance for all participants
