Fiestas en la Calle marks 10th Anniversary with a Vibrant Celebration of Latin Heritage

celebrates the success of its 10th Annual Fiestas en la Calle, which took place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in downtown Carrboro, North Carolina. This year’s festival brought together over 3,000 attendees, who enjoyed music, dance, food, and the rich cultural heritage of Latin America.

“This 10th Fiestas en la Calle was more than just a festival—it was a celebration that united cultures and communities through music, dance, food, and artisan crafts,” said Pilar Rocha-Goldberg, President & CEO of El Centro Hispano. “We thank the community for coming out in such large numbers and supporting our vendors and artists.”

Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee shared her excitement: “I’m excited to see events like this take place in our town. The Latino community is an essential part of Carrboro, and we will always stand with you—everything will turn out well.”

From noon to 7:00 PM, attendees enjoyed a dynamic program featuring cultural performances and live music that filled the streets of Carrboro with rhythm and color. The event showcased Ballet Folklórico Mexicano: Orgullo y Alma Latino, Takiri (Latin folkloric dance), Sangre de Campeón (Peruvian dance), Zumba by Colibrí, and the incredible music of Sabrosura Latin Jazz, No Passport, DJ Willie Elias, The Acoustic Guys, and concluded with the high-energy band Kche.

Attendees also enjoyed family-friendly activities, artisan craft booths, and authentic Latin American cuisine from local vendors, making the festival a full cultural experience. Children received a “passport” to collect stamps from each booth, with the chance to win a raffle.

This milestone celebration was made possible thanks to the dedicated El Centro Hispano staff, the partnership with the Town of Carrboro, and the generous support of sponsors. Photo Credits: El Centro Hispano / Triangle Professional Photography
