Powerful Roundtable with UnidosUS at El Centro Hispano

On May 14, El Centro Hispano co-hosted a powerful roundtable with UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization—and one of our valued partners and affiliate organizations. This nonpartisan 501(c)(3) event was part of a broader effort to uplift community voices and ensure they are informed.

The event featured a presentation of poll results commissioned by UnidosUS, capturing perspectives on the first 100 days of the current federal administration. The findings offered a meaningful look at how communities are experiencing and interpreting the current landscape.

The roundtable, open to the press, was moderated by Aaron Sánchez, journalist at WUNC. We were honored to welcome a panel of experts and community leaders:

  • Rafael Collazo, Director of Political Campaigns at UnidosUS, presented the poll results and offered insight into their significance.
  • Susie Feliz, Senior Advisor for Legislative Affairs and Institutional Strategy at UnidosUS, shared strategic perspectives on Latino engagement and advocacy.
  • Pilar Rocha-Goldberg, President & CEO of El Centro Hispano, brought a local lens to the discussion.
  • Adrián González, a seasoned executive with deep experience in the financial services sector, added a thoughtful economic viewpoint.
  • Anabel Rosa, attorney and advocate, highlighted the legal implications of the data.

These leaders, alongside community members, unpacked the findings with clarity and care, offering a rich discussion on how we can advance shared priorities at both the local and national levels.

Later in the day, El Centro Hispano hosted a listening session with UnidosUS, where community members shared their personal stories, concerns, and hopes. They spoke candidly about the issues that matter most to them and offered powerful insights into the challenges and opportunities facing North Carolina families today.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, spoke, and listened. These conversations are essential to building informed communities—and we remain committed to creating spaces where North Carolina voices and lived experiences are not only welcomed but centered.
