Café con Pan Dulce with Superintendent Lewis

El Centro Hispano had the pleasure of welcoming Superintendent Anthony Lewis of Durham Public Schools (DPS) to our recent Café con Pan Dulce gathering — a warm and meaningful space where families, educators, and community members come together over coffee and conversation.

During this gathering, we shared valuable information and, most importantly, listened directly to the voices of our families. In this safe and supportive environment, participants expressed their concerns, shared their hopes for the future, and offered thoughtful reflections on how we can continue to strengthen the connection between schools and families.

Moments like these remind us of the power of community — how transformative it can be when we come together to listen, learn, and uplift one another. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Superintendent Lewis for joining us and to all the families who continue to inspire our work every day.
