Fiestas en la Calle – Carrboro 2026 Brings Music, Food, Dance and Latin American Culture to Weaver Street

El Centro Hispano and the Town of Carrboro are getting ready to celebrate the richness and diversity of Latin American culture at Fiestas en la Calle – Carrboro 2026, a free, family-friendly cultural celebration taking place Sunday, August 23, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Weaver Street in Carrboro.

This celebration invites residents and visitors of all backgrounds to experience the richness and diversity of Latin American traditions through live music, dance, food, art, entertainment, and cultural experiences. The festival creates a welcoming space where families, neighbors and community members can discover, learn about and celebrate both traditional and contemporary Latin American culture.

The event is designed to bring people together through the universal language of culture and celebration, while highlighting the contributions of the Latino community to the vibrant social and cultural fabric of Carrboro and the surrounding region.

“Fiestas en la Calle is an invitation to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the cultures that make our communities stronger,” said Pilar Rocha Goldberg, President and CEO of El Centro Hispano. “We are proud to create a space where Latino families can see their cultures represented and where everyone in our community can experience the music, food, traditions and joy of Latin America.”

Carrboro Town Manager Patrice Toney said: “Fiestas en la Calle is a wonderful example of what we can accomplish when we work together as true partners in the community. The Town of Carrboro and El Centro Hispano have built a strong relationship through collaborating on festivals, serving our community and creating opportunities for people to come together. We share a commitment to building relationships that advance culture, understanding and a sense of belonging. We are proud to help bring this celebration of Latino culture, music, food and community to Carrboro.” 

Throughout the afternoon, attendees will be able to enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with music, dancing, cultural performances, arts, food and family-friendly entertainment. The festival welcomes everyone, from longtime residents to first-time visitors, to experience the many cultures and traditions represented within the Latin American community.

Fiestas en la Calle – Carrboro 2026 is free and open to the public.
