Hispanic Heritage Book Fair is back!

El Centro Hispano, in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Literature Organization Milibrohispano, is excited to announce the 4th Edition of the Hispanic Heritage Book Fair 2024, scheduled for November 7-9, 2024. This international event celebrates cultural diversity and bilingualism, promoting intercultural exchange while highlighting the literary, artistic, and entrepreneurial heritage of the Hispanic world.

The main activities will kick off on November 7 with workshops and discussions at Duke University, targeting students and educators. On November 8, invited authors will visit local schools and colleges, fostering enriching dialogue between writers and young students. Finally, on November 9, the book fair and a day of readings will take place at the Marbles Museum, open to the entire community for a day filled with culture, literature, and fellowship.

The fair will feature local and international authors across various genres, including children’s literature, narrative, poetry, and drama, alongside contributions from local visual artists.

“El Centro Hispano is honored to present the 4th Edition of the Hispanic Heritage Book Fair to our community,” stated Ethel Vandergriff, Manager of the Education Department at the organization. “This event not only promotes reading, creativity, and education but also builds bridges between Hispanic authors and the community, facilitating a highly enriching cultural exchange. Such dialogue not only fosters empathy but also strengthens our collective commitment to building a more inclusive and peaceful world, which is urgently needed in today’s

climate. We are confident that this event will inspire the Latino community and beyond,” Vandergriff concluded.

Pilar VĆ©lez, President of Milibrohispano, added, “The 4th Edition of the Hispanic Heritage Book Fair in North Carolina is more than just a book fair; it is a space for meeting, growth, and celebration of our Hispanic heritage. Thanks to the valuable partnership with El Centro Hispano and the collaboration with Duke University, we have created an event that not only includes Hispanics but also invites other cultures, solidifying its status as an international fair.
